Shot completely at actual locations in Allahabad city of UP, it's star cats includes stalwart actors like Paresh Rawal, Om Puri, Pavan Mallhotra, Javed Shaikh, Swati Chitnis, Masood Akhtar, Yusuf Hussain, G.P.Singh, Rajan Bhise, Rakesh Srivastava, Sudhir Nema, Vijay Mishra. Tushar Gandhi will be seen in a guest appearance.

The music of the film is scored by Sandesh Shandilya, Nitin Kumar Gupta - Prem Haria, Vijay Mishra and lyrics penned by Sudhir Nema, (Late) Narsinh Mehta, (Late) Allama Iqbal, (Late) John Henry Newman, Guru Granth Sahib.

The film is slated to release somewhere in the year end.

A simple story of a God fearing, devout Muslim mechanic named Hashmat Ullah (Paresh Rawal) who has been entrusted the job of repairing an old V8 ford engine, not knowing the historic significance that it once carried the ashes of Mahatma Gandhi which were immersed in the holy river 'Sangam'.

He is caught in a complex situation after a powerful bomb explosion rocks his town leading to the arrest of innocent Muslim youths of his locality. A strike to work is called by the prominent Leaders (Om Puri) (Pavan Mallhotra) of his community to protest against the unjust treatment meted out to those arrested youths by the police.

Will he support the protest and abandon the repair of the engine or go against the wishes of his community.

Thus begins his journey. A journey of Gandhian values and principles. A journey of patriotism. A journey called ''ROAD TO SANGAM (CONFLUENCE)''.

Paresh Rawal as Husmatullah -Put it the way you want, he is either a 'matric fail mechanic' or just a 'mistri' who knows that every entity whether it is a car engine or a human being, it is the constellation of small nuts and bolts that make them run their normal chores. A mechanic of immense knowledge and excellence, one day his life and his own belief is thrown in a whirlpool where he has to find 'ki har ensaan ke dil ka motor kahan hota hai'. A process where he not only has to overcome all

oppositions possible, but rediscover himself once again. Though in the process, he is always under indirect tutelage of a simple man of flesh and blood who walked on this earth years & years ago and had successfully found the motor of one fifth of humanity, and much more.

Om Puri as Mohammad Ali Kasuri - An authoritative figure for muslim population of his area, he is both feared and obeyed. A man having a bitter experience in the past and going through the same in present, he is a disillusioned man having lost faith in goodness until one of his own member opposes him and tries to illuminate the face that 'An eye for an eye makes the world blind'. He opens his eyes in the end and realizes that the world is not that dark and had has still some colours left.

Pawan Malhotra as Maulana Qureshi - An extremist, who sees an opportunity for himself with developing scenario and fans hatred and bigotry to save his purpose. He knows the power center and cleverly allies himself along with it. He is a representation of ecclesiastical class who from centuries has cleverly allied with power centers to strengthen their religious control and manipulate it to their advantage.

Javed Shaikh as Dr. Banerjee - A dear friend of Husmatullah and his soul brother. Through they both belong to different religion and culture, both have a strong friendship which stands unperturbed in testing times. When Husmatullah is left all alone, it is his friend Dr.Banerjee who stands besides him and encourages him to follow the vocation of his heart. He epitomizes the saying 'A friend in need is friend indeed'.

Swati Chitnis as Aara - Wife of Husmatullah. Vivacious lady, nagging wife understanding lady, chatterbox all rolled into one. When the tough time comes, she revels in herself and stands full and firm besides Hasmat assuring him that the path he had taken was indeed the most proper one.

Masood Akhtar as Zulfikar - Another friend of Husmatullah and belong to the same profession of automobile engineering. He also stands against Husmatullah along with others he when goes against the wish of leaders of the community. In the end he is won over by Husmatullah.

Yusuf Hussain as Gaffar - He is office bearer of the local masjid committee and also a member of morning walk group. In spite of this reservations for the actions of Husmatullah, he also towards the end unites with him in his endeavor.

G. P. Singh as Hakim - One of important member of friendship gang of Husmatullah and always the loser in their morning walk competition. Opposing his belief, Hustmatullah qustions his credentials as a citizen and as a professional. Frankly Hakim also wins his parochial fear and understands the meaning of Husmatullah's struggle and allies with him in due course.

Sudhir Nema as Inaayat Ali - One of close friend of Husmatullah, and the head of shopkeeper association of the local Muslim community. He is of the kind to toe the lines laid before him by his community leaders and never to question the rationality behind it, until one day he questions his own judgement, being moved by the belief of his friend Husmatullah.

Vijay Mishra as Rafat - He is the eldest son and has the same attributes as his father. Sensible, sensitive and compassionate he is the only one who truly understands the struggle of his father and stands along with him all the way.

Rajan Bhise as Shoukat - Younger brother of Hasmatullah. When Hasmat goes against his zamaat to pursue his inner voice, he like others stands against him. He blames Hasmat of bringing trouble to the family but still feels enraged and concerned when Hasmat is manhandled. Towards the end, reconciled by the vision of Hasmat he joins him like all others.
